FAQ

How much does it cost to register as a walker and attend the Freedom Fair?

Nothing.  To participate as a walker or attend the Freedom Fair is free of charge.

If I am a registered walker, what time should I arrive?

8:30 AM

Do I have to know about human trafficking to participate as a walker?

No.  If you do, that’s wonderful and you can share your knowledge with the public.  If not, we will have handouts with information for you to pass out.  You do not have to be an expert, just willing to hand a flyer to those you pass by.

Once I register, when should I expect to receive my last minute instructions, including parking information?

You will receive emails from Guido, the Walk Coordinator the week of the walk.  For cancellations or questions, email Guido.  Include “LA Freedom Walk” in the subject line.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes.  We invite you to wear clothing that brings about awareness of human trafficking or represents an anti-trafficking agency.  There will be water stations in the Heinsbergen Room, but we recommend carrying a water bottle during the walk.
*The first 100 registrants will receive a complimentary t-shirt.

What is the route?

There is a three mile radius route, however you can walk as far as you want.  We will be sending walkers out in groups down different streets to reach the most people possible.  The various streets take walkers through the produce, jewelry, and wholesale districts.

This is not a traditional walk.  It is more of an outreach to the public.  You will be given handouts inviting the public to the Freedom Fair and Special Presentation in the Heinsbergen Room.  All walkers will return to the Millennium by 11:00 AM.

Can I choose who I walk with since there are different routes?

No.  If you would like to walk with a group from the same organization, please indicate so during registration.  If you don’t, you will be grouped randomly.

Is there an age limit?

No. Feel free to bring your family, just be sure to register for each one.  *Unfortunately, t-shirts for the first 100 registrants are adult sizes only.

Is this a fundraising event?

No.  However, if you’d like to raise funds as an individual, you can set-up your own page at First Giving.

What is the Freedom Fair?

The Freedom Fair is a room of exhibitors that represent anti-trafficking agencies and will provide resources to the public as well as opportunities for meaningful engagement.

Who do I contact if I would like to be an exhibitor at the Freedom Fair?

Please email Christine if you would like to be an exhibitor.  In the subject line enter: LA Freedom Walk Exhibitor and in the body of the email include 1) Name of your organization 2) Contact Person and information 3) Short description of your agency

Every exhibitor will have one 6ft table, a black tablecloth and two chairs.  For special requests, please notify Christine.
